9/4/2012 - The airport manager's name is Eric. There is now a crew car available to get you to Shatley Springs and the runways are 10/28. I would suggest to land on Runway 28 slopes 2 uphill unless the wind is more than 10 knots unfavorable.

9/15/2011 - Use RWY 27 for landing unless there is a strong Easterly wind. According to airport manager, there is a downdraft close to RWY 27 threshold, for light airplanes needing less than 3000ft of RWY it's safer to aim at the 1000ft mark for T/D

5/12/2011 - Not sure where the name originated but technically, it is Ashe County Airport, Jefferson, NC. Marvin Stump is no longer the airport manager and not available to shuttle folks to Shatley Springs. Shatley Springs is a great restaurant. The airport is now a County facility. A crew car may be available.
