Winter Haven's Gilbert Airport
Richard's Fine Coffee was a great stop for lunch. They serve hot cold gourmet sandwiches and gourmet coffee as the name implies. The restaurant which is located in the relatively new terminal building, is very clean and modern.The staff is friendly and the food is excellent. I had a tuna salad sandwich and my co-pilot had a huge Cobb salad could not finish it. Everything was fresh and delicious. UPDATE: Richard's is closed and has re-opened as Pappy's Grill - Submitted by Steve

4/17/2019 - It's quite a while since Richard Pappy's Grill left the airport. The resturaunt has changed hands a couple of times over the last couple of years. It is now the Flightline Cafe and seems to be well supported by locals and pilots flying in. - Submitted by Allan Durham

3/27/2017 - Papy's closed last year, the restaurant reopened with a new owner but failed miserably after a couple of months. A new owner takes over and will be opening for business on March 31st 2107 It will be called the Flightline Cafe, everyone is looking forward to the reopening as Gilbert Field is a great little airport to visit. - Submitted by Allan

6/23/2016 - Flew in for lunch and fuel today and discovered that the restaurant Pappys has closed. The FBO staff says a new restaurant will be opening in a few weeks, so you better check with the FBO before planning a stop at KGIF for food. There are no other restaurants within walking distance and there was no courtesy car available today. Self Serve fuel price is still good, but the pumps are located on the opposite south side of the airport. - Submitted by Hugh
