The  Engine Life Management (ELMT) is the Center of Excellence for sustaining engineering services and is a valued partner to PW Military Engines Sustainment Operations and the global partners supporting MRO depots worldwide.   This is a multi-disciplined Associate Director role responsible for performance and organizational health of the technical team and all aspects of the mechanical design and structural integrity in sustainment operations for the Fan and Compressor Modules. Additionally, the Associate Director will share in the leadership and planning with the Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) leadership teams.  Strong communication with the military customer, Program Office and Program Chief Engineers is essential in driving alignment.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide superior engineering services for:? Unserviceable Hardware Recovery Solutions? ?; Operational distress trending / Analytical Condition Inspections? Depot Field technical support?; Aftermarket Nonconformance Review Approvals; - Hardware Field Serviceable Limits ?
  • Hire, coach, train and build the technical proficiency of a multi-disciplined engineering team and become a valuable member of OKC site leadership team as well as partner with the CIPT leadership teams in the strategic and technical leadership of the CIPTs and provide quality review and approval of work performed.
  • Champion the Integrated Product Deployment (IPD) process by empowering multi-discipline teams to provide solutions that balance customer requirements for safety, durability, life cycle cost and performance.
  • Ensure appropriately outsourced work is completed, reviewed and approved, consistent with discipline strength and development, and in accordance with PW processes as well as collaborate with internal and external groups to advance technology and improve engineering standard work processes/methods.
  • Ensure proper documentation and communication of results to management and external customers as well as drive continuous process improvements to reduce Aftermarket Notification turn time, increase engine time on wing and war readiness, and drive pro-active shop and field actions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent with 12+ years of of gas turbine or relevant experience OR
  • Advanced degree with 10+ years of gas turbine or relevant experience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in field and production support and part design and development
  • Proven leadership and analytical skills.
  • The ability to craft clear communication and develop meaningful relationships.
  • Demonstrate excellent judgment and professional maturity.

What is my role type?

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
