Purpose of Position
Solutions Manager, Tax, will be at the forefront of driving innovation and efficiency within the Tax Department. This pivotal role, will lead projects, establish policies and governance for newly implemented technologies and processes, and spearhead the adoption and integration of cutting-edge solutions. This position will be instrumental in coaching and developing team members, ensuring seamless transitions and maximizing the benefits of technology advancements. Moreover, play a key role in managing strategic initiatives, analyzing data, and identifying opportunities for automation and process optimization. Exceptional communication skills, multitasking abilities, and a drive for continuous improvement are essential for success in this dynamic position.

Tasks and Responsibilities
Project Leadership: Lead the end-to-end project life cycle, from conceptualization to implementation, driving innovation in data, digital, and process realms. Collaborate closely with tax team members and key business partners to design and enhance processes, implement software solutions, and apply technology best practices.
Process Optimization:
•Identify pain points within the department and leverage automation tools and process solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Collaborate with business owners to implement solutions that address specific needs and streamline operations.
•Identify and prioritize opportunities to improve operational efficiencies in Tax Department reporting and filing processes. Collaborate with Tax Department management to address challenges and clarify task requirements effectively.
Policy and Governance: Establish policies, controls, and governance frameworks to ensure the effective and compliant use of newly implemented solutions and processes. Develop and maintain documentation for process improvements, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Training and development: Facilitate training sessions for team members on new technologies and automation tools, empowering them to utilize these tools effectively. Identify and leverage resources within the organization to provide ongoing support for adopted tools and processes.
Subject Matter Expertise: Lead the identification, gathering, and organization of data requirements across the tax team. Develop alternative methodologies and partner with related functions to create automation and efficiencies in data processes.
Technology Adoption:
•Establish and achieve goals with Business Users, offering advanced support for systems utilized in the tax area. Provide mentoring to technology super users within the tax department to enhance their capabilities.
•Lead communication between Tax, Finance, and IT teams regarding technical tax and systems concepts. Conduct meetings and training sessions to ensure readiness in utilizing available technologies and software effectively.
Documentation and Communication:
•Build and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technology training documents for the Tax Department. Organize internal training pages/sites for easy navigation and accessibility, both for internal users and external stakeholders.
•Provide general support and guidance to the department for questions or issues related to analytics and automation tools. Effectively communicate technical information to business users and translate business needs to technical teams across the organization.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs)
  • Two years of financial-related experience, demonstrating a deep understanding of income and sales tax principles and regulations.
  • Three years of hands-on data analyst experience, with advanced proficiency in data modeling and data management techniques.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather requirements, analyze complex issues, and communicate solutions effectively to stakeholders.
  • Proficient in the advanced use of software and tools such as tax software, Alteryx, SAS, Python, spreadsheets/Excel, databases, and other analytics tools would be a plus.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with associates at all levels of the organization.
  • Advanced analytical skills, enabling the development of detailed requirements and documentation in a manner understandable to all stakeholders.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the manufacturing process, data flow within the company, and product development cycle.
  • Ability to facilitate, lead, and conduct meetings with members across all levels of the organization.
