Position Overview

The Manager Planning is directly responsible to the Director Planning for the day-to-day functions of the Planning department. The duties and responsibilities of the Manager Planning may be delegated to any assistant deemed qualified. However, such delegation does not relieve the Manager Planning of the overall responsibility.

  • Prepare undefined work packages for loading in Production Control Work Centers.
  • Develop a sequenced flow plan for aircraft undergoing heavy maintenance.
  • Support Marketing in the bid / estimate and flow processes for RFQs.
  • Provide principal direction for Production Planners in the bid and proposal efforts, which involves the coordination of all effected department managers, Project Managers, and other pertinent individuals in the development of man-hour and material estimates for the RFQ.
  • Maintain a database of work documents to provide historical information when estimating and sequencing / scheduling a RFQ project.
  • Generate sequence flow charts based on the customerrsquo;s RFQ.
  • Ensure the work scope is totally defined to allow for accuracy in answering the RFQ.
  • Estimate the time (man-hours and down time) to accomplish each job, taking into consideration critical path items, manpower and material availability.
  • Monitor, update and analyze actual work against projected work.
  • Develop a card-by-card tally of initial inspection ldquo;red-linerdquo; items providing a method to track customersrsquo; preliminary inspection process.
  • Assure personnel are treated equally and fairly in accordance with TIMCO Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Administer disciplinary action to assigned personnel, as appropriate and required, in accordance with TIMCO Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Correct time keeping errors for assigned personnel as required.
  • Implement and monitor strategic company and department initiatives as required and directed.
  • Provide coaching, counseling and guidance to assigned work groups.

What you need: (Requirements)

  • Read, write and understand the English language.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • B.S. Degree in Aviation related field or equivalent experience.
  • Seven (7) years large commercial jet aircraft related experience or three (3) years aircraft planning experience. Prior Production Control associated experience a plus.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of aircraft maintenance bidding, spreadsheet development, scheduling, manpower analysis, MIS system utilization and project analysis.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Word and Excel).
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be a self starter.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to lead people and accept responsibility.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Subject to continual loud noises.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, stand for prolonged periods of time and climb steps.
  • Normal office environment where approximately 60 of work is performed in a sitting position with the remaining time in walking and moving around the office or hangar/shop areas.
