Position Overview

The Maintenance Supervisor supervises assigned employees with the assistance of Lead Mechanics in accordance with company policies and procedures. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe work environment, managing costs and delivering a quality aircraft/product on time.

  • Supervise and direct activities of all personnel assigned assuring all maintenance is completed in compliance with established company policies, procedures and applicable FAA regulations
  • Promote a culture of safety by ensuring work is performed within HAECO safety guidelines
  • Prioritizes all work to be accomplished during a specific shift for assigned area and forecasting for the next 48 hours
  • Plan and review with Project Manager accomplishments on the project planned vs. actual for each previous shift as well as the upcoming planned 24-hour period
  • Obtain customer approval on original, additional and/or revised estimates to accomplish maintenance on customerrsquo;s aircraft and components and manage OASIS with assistance from the Project Manager
  • Update Project Manager daily of the following:
    • Planned man-hours on the aircraft that day
    • Man-hours expended on previous day plan VS actual and variance
    • Percentage of routine and non-routine items open and completed
    • Areas that may affect the release date of the aircraft to include parts, engineering and lengthy elapsed time work orders
    • All items which exceed or are approaching their estimates
  • Assist Project Manager to coordinate with all support groups to ensure they are supporting the aircraft schedule including checking the status of certain jobs with the support shop
  • Coordinate with the Inspection department during the primary inspection phase to ensure the plan is followed and during delivery to ensure paperwork accountability
  • Assist the Project Manager with billing the service order within the 5-day goal after the aircraft departure
  • Communicates with management from other shifts to assure smooth shift turnover
  • Supervise assigned employees by prioritizing and assigning work with the assistance of Lead Mechanics, ensuring that milestones and deliveries are met
  • Conduct employee meetings to inform employees of important work issues
  • Assist with HR related duties for assigned area including:
  • Interviewing internal and external job applicants
  • Conducting performance coaching, evaluations and disciplinary actions
  • Monitoring attendance records
  • Scheduling employees to meet aircraft work requirements
  • Provide clear communication to employees regarding work
  • Ensure employees are qualified for the work they perform and develop employee technical skills as needed
  • Assure employees attend training classes as scheduled
  • Perform administrative functions including:
  • Audit paperwork
  • Tool box inspections
  • Check tooling log for proper usage
  • Assure mechanics are assigned to correct jobs with no unassigned time
  • Write RFTS, assisting engineering with information needed
  • Write N/Rs with the assistance of the Lead Mechanic
  • Assure parts are available for aircraft and shortages are resolved
  • Communicate with onsite customer and assist with customer needs

What you need: (Requirements)

  • 5+ years experience performing as an accomplished aircraft mechanic with progression of responsibilities or 2 year previously demonstrated ability within HAECO
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate (Composites Skill requires only Airframe certificate)
  • Must be on the electronic roster.
  • Read, write, speak and understand the English language
  • Capable of interpreting drawings and blueprints to accomplish a specific task
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to interact with a wide variety of people
  • Basic computer skills and a high school diploma or equivalent are required
  • Flexible hours and off shifts may be required
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Must be able to wear and breathe through a full-face respirator
  • May be exposed to hazardous chemicals and requires the use of all safety equipment
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel and stand for prolonged periods of time, climb ladders and stands
  • Visual Acuity must be a minimum of 20/40 corrected and must be able to distinguish color
  • Normal or corrected hearing
  • Must be able to access all areas of the aircraft
