What you can expect as an Operations Manager at West Star:

This Operations Manager position will lead the Project Manager team to ensure all operations are successfully executed in his/her assigned hangar. They will be responsible for oversight of all third-party vendors, engineering support, technical support, ADP and payroll accountability, timecards, and vacations. Additionally, they will develop and implement ldquo;best practicesrdquo; methodology while driving a competitive advantage through a continuous improvement, process-based culture, focused on safety, service, profitability, accuracy, and speed. Ideal candidates will exhibit a fact-based, management style aggressively addressing business and customersrsquo; tactical issues and strategic needs. Operations managerrsquo;s serve as a key change agent leading the Project Manager team with special focus on people, processes, and tooling to achieve faster Turn-Around-Time (TAT), with increased quality and cost savings.

You will be ESSENTIAL to many FUNCTIONS including:

  • Organizes and directs the Project Manager / Shift Manager teams.
  • Leads the team through the implementation of operational initiatives, documented processes, metrics, and measurements to ensure aircraft are delivered on-time, on-budget, and defect-free to customers.
  • Focuses on continuous improvement, defect reduction and growing a culture of process discipline.
  • Partners with the customer and key functions in the business to respond to key business and customer requirements.
  • Ensures work standards, policies, and processes are developed and workforce adheres to requirements.
  • Develops strategic manpower, equipment, and tool requirements for the organization.
  • Ensures and oversees a flow and a plan for each aircraft maintenance visit from set-up through execution.
  • Establishes and monitors conformance with specs, procedures, schedule, and safety.
  • Analyzes root cause and develops mitigating action plan on key organizational quality metrics and performs periodic reviews to ensure corrective action achieve desired results.
  • Motivates, leads, and mentors key staff to deliver on the companyrsquo;s strategic vision.
  • Fosters and maintains a professional relationship with customers and fleet operators.
  • Monitors billable and unbillable hours.
  • Manages the process for holiday and paid time off.
  • Manages the coordination between fleet operations planning and site maintenance performed at location.
  • Manages the review of timecards and expenses for technicians.
  • Performs annual reviews with input from Project Managers, General Manager and VP ndash; Fleet Aircraft Maintenance, MIV SVH for all technicians and related personnel.
  • Monitors the coordination of manpower between aircraft workloads and site supervision.
  • Reviews work orders for completion, accuracy, and proper documentation.
  • Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English

What yoursquo;ll need to bring with you:

Your Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Bachelor of Science Degree in Business, Leadership or Aircraft related field preferred

Holds a valid FAA Airframe Powerplant License

Your Experience:

10+ years in Aircraft Maintenance, with management experience in building and leading world-class operations and organizations

Working knowledge of Corridor, Cost Accounting Management, Microsoft Office, MS Project, and similar type desktop software applications.

Attention to detail and strong organizational and communication skills, both written and oral, along with budget and forecasting experience.

Experience with various models of corporate aircraft (Cessna Longitude experience preferred)

LEAN, Six Sigma and 5S experience preferred

Routine walking, bending and squatting or sitting

Routing or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands

Basic personal computer operations especially with Apple and Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
