Description:
Integrated Sensing & Surveillance is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and support day-to-day flight operations. This role is critical in ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and the highest standards of aviation safety across our fixed wing operations.
Working closely with the Chief Pilot and maintenance teams, the Operations Manager will ensure pilots remain current, training requirements are met, and operations align with Transport Canada and the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs).
Location: Springbrook, Alberta (with occasional travel to operational sites)
Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Regular Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Key Responsibilities
Flight Operations & Scheduling
- Coordinate flight crew scheduling to support operational, training, and regulatory requirements
- Ensure pilot currency and qualifications are maintained in collaboration with the Chief Pilot
- Support efficient aircraft utilization and operational readiness
Safety & Compliance
- Collaborating with hazard management strategies in accordance with the SMS program
- Maintain accurate training and compliance records within safety management systems
- Report hazards, non-compliance issues, and safety concerns through the SMS system
- Promote a strong safety culture aligned with regulatory and company standards
Training & Documentation
- Oversee training compliance for all flight operations personnel
- Ensure documentation is complete, current, and properly maintained in training systems
- Monitor upcoming training requirements and proactively plan schedules
Maintenance Coordination
- Liaise with the Aircraft Maintenance Organization (AMO) to ensure aircraft availability
- Coordinate maintenance scheduling to minimize operational disruptions
Operational Leadership & Strategy
- Support the development and execution of operational strategies
- Engage with vendors, clients, and service providers to ensure service excellence
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across operations
Reporting Responsibilities
- Provide regular reports to the Chief Pilot on training compliance and upcoming requirements
- Ensure all onboarding requirements and checklists are completed for new pilots and Contractors
Leadership & HR Responsibilities
As a member of the leadership team, the Operations Manager may:
- Support recruitment, hiring, and onboarding
- Conduct performance reviews and employee development
- Approve time, expenses, and operational reporting
- Participate in disciplinary processes as required

Requirements:
Qualifications & Experience
Education & Licensing
- Valid Transport Canada Commercial Pilot License (CPL)
- Must hold, or have held, appropriate pilot-in-command ratings for company aircraft
OR
- have acquired not less than 2 years related supervisory experience with an air operator of a commercial air service whose flight operations are similar in size and scope;
Experience
- Experience in fixed wing or rotor wing aviation operations
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience is considered an asset
- Strong understanding of CARs and aviation regulatory requirements
Conditions of Employment
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Satisfactory 3-year Driver’s Abstract
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and alcohol test

Safety-Sensitive Position
Integrated Sensing & Surveillance Ltd. operates under federal jurisdiction. This position is designated as safety-sensitive and is subject to:
