Chief Program Manager Director - Everett, Washington

The Chief PM is a Director level position accountable for providing program management expertise through guiding and mentoring a defined set of program managers and program teams, identifying and closing gaps in program management fundamentals, process application and best practices, and providing expert oversight of critical Aerospace programs. Acting as an individual expert, the Chief Program Manager will ensure program execution excellence from initial proposal to final delivery.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Will be highly involved in developing program management talent across the business by such activities as conducting periodic domain seminars on program management skills and methodologies, identifying PM process improvements from deep dives and PIAs and leading PM skills assessment within business with recommendations for mentoring, training, developmental actions, knowledge sharing of PM function.
• Will work with the appropriate Aero Program teams and councils to ensure business controls, processes and consistent tools are applied effectively.
• Will be an active mentor to program management talent.
• Validating program execution practices across business including providing oversight on key new programs and assessing execution plans prior to launch of complex pursuits.
• Drive adherence to documented best practices from a primarily development perspective and sign off as appropriate on Integrated Product Delivery and Support (IPDS) for assigned programs, reviewing and making recommendations for program plan, budget, resource plan, schedule and milestones, Preliminary Design Review / Critical Design Review plans and risk register.
• Key resource in addressing troubled complex programs, driving Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) to achieve a red to green transition and providing a follow up plan to maintain green status.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• 10+ years’ experience and expertise in Project Management or Leadership within technical or business field
• BS/BA/Master’s degree in engineering or business
• Due to export control laws must be US Citizen, permanent resident or have protected status

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to communicate effectively to a broad range of technical and non-technical audiences including external customers, partners, certification authorities, technical committees forums
• Have significant large scale, complex development program management experience
• Experience with government program controls desirable (i.e. working with DCMA)
• Considered expert in program management principals and real world application.
• PMP certification desirable.
• Expertise with large, complex, integrated development programs
• Experience with the application of Integrated Product Delivery and Support (IPDS) Phases or Product Delivery Assurance Phases
