What Will You Be Doing?

As a Sr. Director, IT PMO, you will conduct project management (PjM) activities related to strategic technology-related programs/projects, in addition to managing personnel and activities of the functional Program Management Office (PMO) team. You will be working on implementing and providing guidance related PMO processes and policies, oversee the work of project managers + technical business analysts, and work with cross functional department leaders to define, prioritize, and develop project and program plans.

Essential Functions/Requirements

People Management

  • Responsible for career development, performance management and performance review process for Managers, IT PMO and Program Managers, PMO
  • Provide oversight and guidance for project management staff by developing or modifying work plans, assigning, and distributing work, providing work instruction, resolving problems encountered during daily operations, and providing input for the performance enhancement plan

Program/Project Management

  • Develop, implement, and monitor contracts with vendors, ensuring conformance to approved plans and contract specifications.
  • Lead program/project teams to develop and gain approval of project plans, which outline the objectives of the project, scope of work, and project elements, including schedule, project deliverables, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing staff requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of projects.
  • Change Advocate- Reviews change readiness assessments and makes recommendations for organization change management actions to increase readiness and adoption of technologies deployed

Financial Management

  • Provide oversight and guidance over the development and monitoring of project budgets
  • Analyzes requirements across interdependent projects to identify opportunities for synergies and cost savings
  • Applies financial knowledge of budgets and estimation to successfully manage projects
  • Anticipates potential budget concerns and takes actions to avoid issues
  • Develops financial models and reviews scope and budget to ensure assumptions are clearly documented and tracked during project delivery

Risk/Assumptions/Issue/Dependencies (RAID) Management

  • Forecasts and evaluates risks with the identification of actions to avoid or minimize negative impacts on the project

Process/Tools Management

  • Enforce PMO methodology, usage of standard tools and drive for continuous improvement
  • Drives standard tools optimization for effective IT portfolio management within the framework of the organization.
  • Applies the knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to meet the project requirements and achieve business results
  • Maintain standardized and relevant document templates into central repository for Frontier community.
  • Coaches PjMs in the team on the Program/Project Management Lifecycle (PMLC) process

Communication/Relationship Management

  • Develop relationships with and ensure appropriate participation of key stakeholders and executives.
  • Serve as the primary contact for business relationship for project management services and practices.
  • Provide communications on services, utilization, engagement, accomplishments, overall value-add to the organization.

Other Functions

  • Drive PMO efficiency and supporting projects activities such as Procurement and Finance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree required or a combination of relevant education and work experience considered in lieu of degree
  • Masters Degree in IT Project Management, Business Analysis or IT Leadership preferred
  • 15 + years of proven project and program management of large complex technology deployments with direct interaction with senior executives
  • 5+ years of experience leading and/or guiding project/program management teams for executing cross functional technology projects
  • Domain experience: 5+ years of experience in the aviation field or relatable experience
  • Expert level program/project management and business analysis skills and proficiencies in related methodologies, with a minimum of 8 years of successfully managing projects of "high complexity" as reflected in: size of project, cost of the project, size of project team, depth and breadth of project manager role responsibility, span of project impact (i.e., enterprise-wide, multi-departmental, or having a major market or external impact).
  • Proven ability to ensure execution of all cross functional project activities
  • Experience ensuring generation and maintenance of integrated project plans that reflect approved balance of scope, time and resources
  • Proven track record to identify and prioritize issues, make timely decisions and determine nature of response required
  • Proven strategic planning skills, ability to develop business plans
  • Reliable, punctual attendance and quick response is an essential function of the position
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Formulate and manage project management methodology, governance structure, estimates costs, and ensures projects meet strategic business needs.
  • Establish and maintain project management standards and best practices. Manage and mentor project and program managers to ensure projects are executed effectively
  • Enable optimal utilization of resources and lead all aspects of project management life cycle
  • Train and coach key stakeholders in agreed project delivery process and establish processes to track business case and ROI of projects undertaken
  • Will need to have the ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities
  • Are motivated and have ability to work with minimal supervision and direction
  • Understand project management frameworks and tools in the delivery of business objectives
  • Have strong interpersonal, time management and problem-solving skills
  • Have strong analytical skills and ability to adapt and make decisions related to changing requirements
  • Have experience for providing budget actuals and planning input to stakeholders
  • Have experience in managing/leading PMO team(s), resources assignments and leveling
  • Have experience in delivering IT projects through IT PMO using complete Project Lifecycle
  • Have experience in team management and the ability to motivate PMO resources and project teams

Physical Effort

Light physical effort required by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.

Required Travel:

Up to 10 travel is required.

Supervision Received

Considerable Latitude: The incumbent establishes methods and procedures for attaining specific goals and objectives, and receives guidance in terms of broad goals. Only the final results of work are typically reviewed.

Salary Range

$137,643 - $182,696
