Position Summary
The Director of Safety (DOS) reports directly to the Company President on safety-related matters and advises and assists company managers in complying with applicable Federal, State, and Local aviation and safety regulations and with company policies and procedures as outlined within the company manual systems. The DOS manages the company Safety Management System (SMS) in accordance with 14 CFR Part 5, the Internal Evaluation Program (IEP), the Emergency Response Program (ERP), all aspects of company Environmental Health and Safety, and any other current or future-implemented safety-related programs.

Work Environment
This job operates in an environment that varies from a clerical, office setting using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines to a warehouse setting with various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity and cold to also shop-floor locations, ramp and outdoors with potential adverse weather conditions and high noise levels as well as austere locations.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours and work shift may change in accordance with department and business needs. Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require.
Facility Location: Office based out of home location with potential travel to Oklahoma City, OK; Denton, TX; Akron, OH; and various sites overseas.

Travel requirements are: 25%
Required Education and Experience
Education: Associates degree in Aviation Safety and Industrial Safety or other related degree; or experience listed below in lieu of degree.
Experience:
Computer Skills: Mastery of basic documents, spreadsheet and presentations programs; familiar with SMS management software and functionality; familiar with operating airborne mission computers and related systems without hesitation.
Preferred Education and Experience
Education: Bachelors of Science Degree in Aviation, Management or other related degree; Certified Safety Professional.
Experience:
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Employee must be a US citizen and not hold dual citizenship with another country.
Employee should be able to hold and maintain a Secret clearance
