Reporting to the Dean of the College of Education, this leadership position oversees the institution's aviation operations and corresponding flight instruction programs. The position's primary responsibility is to synchronize and manage the municipal, regulatory, business, and fiscal operations of the Department of Aviation and its undergraduate Aeronautics, Aviation Management, and Professional Flight programs.
Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Business, Education, Management, or related field. A minimum of 5 years demonstrated leadership experience in industry or academia. Minimum 2 years supervisory experience. Evidence of prior experience as a certified flight instructor or a military instructor pilot. Operational/business experience in aviation or a related aerospace profession. A working knowledge of FAR Part 141 and 61 flight training.
Master's degree or Ph.D. in Aviation, Aerospace, or related field. Current Certified Flight Instructor certificate with airplane (ASE) and instrument (I) class ratings (CFI-IA). Current Certified Flight Instructor with multi-engine rating (CFI-AME). NBAA-CAM. Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Rating. Considerable university flight program teaching and administrative experience. Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
