The Aircraft Maintenance Manager (AMM) performs and supervises all scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance established in 145 Repair Station and Quality Control Manual, industry standards, and FAA policies and procedures. The AMM is responsible for the control of quality and quantity of work
assignments, assuring work assignments are performed in a clean, safe, efficient manner. This position requires a high level of expertise in aircraft maintenance, regulatory compliance, personnel management, policies, processes, and department standard operating procedures. The AMM promotes a team atmosphere by closely working together with all other departments, tenants, aircraft manufacturer's representatives, part's suppliers, FAA approved repair stations, FAA representatives, and sub-contractors.

Requirements:

Role and Responsibilities
  • Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship as liaison between company, clients, and the FAA with responsibility for the company's issued maintenance certificates and signing of correspondence.
  • Ensures that the department is properly staffed, managed, organized, trained, and directed to fulfill its responsibilities according to internal and FAA regulations, including handling personnel issues such as discipline and termination when necessary.
  • Responsible for all record keeping and auditability requirements, including maintenance and disposition of those records, and signing of Part D of the Operations Specifications.
  • Oversees all inspections, repairs, and component changes and accompanying documentation are accomplished in accordance with the manufacturer or FAA approved procedures, conforming to quality control standards, on schedule, and in compliance with FAA regulations.
  • Oversees and reviews work orders while jobs are in progress monitoring for proper sign offs, supervising and inspecting as required.
  • Responsible for the aircraft, tooling, equipment, materials, inventory, and activities within the hangar(s) and on the adjacent ramp(s) for all department personnel.
  • Plans and prepares maintenance or repair estimates and determine the scope of work and personnel required.
  • Makes available in a timely manner to the maintenance team the necessary overhaul manuals, service bulletins, service letters, airworthiness directives, and other required technical data.
  • Maintains all necessary records and logbooks, including certification in the aircraft permanent maintenance records that the aircraft is approved and returned to service.
Essential Job Functions
The following functions may be performed in variable weather and environmental conditions such as jet engine fumes, dust, or jet engine noise. Must have ability to:
  • Ability to effectively interact and tactfully communicate with various Regulatory Agencies' personnel, both in person and in writing.
  • Must be able to read, write and understand safety plans, rules, maintenance instructions, training manuals, Material Data Safety Sheets (MSDS), maintenance bulletins and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to effectively operate the company's computer-based applications/software and aircraft maintenance tracking programs, to include Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Must maintain high standards of performance for self and others; demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement in all aspects of the business; monitor, coach and mentor the maintenance team.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Current and Valid Certificates: FAA A P or FAA Inspection Authorization
  • 3-5 years of general aviation maintenance operations, including Part 135, and equivalent operational experience to include familiarity with aircraft maintenance scheduling, team management, and customer relations.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in maintaining aircraft with verifiable practical experience as an active aircraft mechanic in a maintenance organization.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a supervisory position in a maintenance organization.Minimum of three years of experience in a Part 135 environment.
  • Must have a thorough working knowledge and understanding of FARs, aircraft technical bulletins, service bulletins, airworthiness directives, aircraft systems and the ability to communicate this knowledge to the required persons.
  • Previous experience maintaining 9 seat or less piston and turbine aircraft.
  • Previous management experience preferred.
  • FAA Airframe and Power Plant Certification or license (A P)FAA Inspection Authorization (IA), to be acquired prior to employment
  • Must possess a valid driver's license. And pass background screening and airport screening.
