DPP is seeking a Senior Mainframe Applications Developer for an opportunity in Columbia, SC.
Location: Partial onsite (Tues., Wed., Thurs. and as needed) in Columbia, SC Duration: 12 months, contract to hire
Position summary:
The Sr. Mainframe Applications Developer will work on the core commercial (nongovernment) claims systems, supporting analysis, design, coding, testing, and implementation of business requirements.
This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to work in a team environment, and the ability to perform effectively under pressure.
The candidate must be able to build effective working relationships across all levels of IT, show initiative, and demonstrate a desire to learn and grow within the team.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
Perform analysis, design, coding, testing, and implementation activities for core commercial claims systems.
Work collaboratively within a team environment.
Communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.
Adapt to changing requirements and follow provided directions.
Maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels of IT.
Show initiative and willingness to learn and grow through assigned work.

Minimum required work experience:
6 years of application development, systems testing, or other jobrelated experience
Required education/equivalencies:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other job-related degree;
OR, Associates degree in CS, IT, or other job-related degree plus 2 years of work-related experience;
OR, 4 years job-related work experience (total 10 years without a degree)
About the team:
The Commercial Claims group consists of 60+ application development staff supporting core commercial claims responsibilities.
Teams are structured into smaller groups for management purposes, but work is completed in a matrixed environment based on staff skill sets and project needs.
Teamwork and collaboration are top priorities and essential for project success.

Schedule:
Hours: 8:30 am – 5:30 pm.
Once fully trained, you will be added to the On Call schedule which typically lasts one week every other month. As part of On Call, the expectation is that you will need to work weekends and off hours for coverage.
If there are project deadlines, you may also be asked to work OT (must be approved) off hours or weekends.
