Washington Corporations, a leading industrial and heavy equipment company, is currently seeking an experienced and motivated DHC-6 PIC and SIC pilot to join its private Part 91 Flight Department. These positions are for the summer flying season June-September, flying an Amphibious Twin Otter in and around the Vancouver, BC area. Candidates should have solid knowledge of pilot and flight operations, FAA/CAR regulations, and the ability to work well in a crew environment. The ideal candidate would have experience in the Canadian coastal area and be familiar with the weather patterns associated with the region, while being able to manage the safe operation of flights in accordance with aircraft limitations, ensuring aircraft is pre-flighted, inspected, loaded, and equipped properly. Room and board are included with the positions. Positions require strong communication, a flexible work schedule, and the ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner. Pilots are also responsible for working with flight department maintenance personnel, reporting times and conditions of the aircraft after each flight.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Pilot-in-command (PIC) or second-in-command (SIC) in the safe and efficient conduct of the flight.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of FAA/CAR flight procedures and regulations.
  • Experience in navigating the Vancouver (YVR) airspace as well as the ability to operate in remote settings.
  • Ability to communicate and interact with passengers, assisting and helping with loading/unloading at airports/docks, catering, cabin comforts, etc.
  • PIC assumes any duties delegated by the Aviation GM.
  • SIC assumes any duties delegated by the PIC.
  • Assists in the cleaning and stocking of aircraft as needed before and after each flight.
  • Location: Vancouver, BC.

Requirements:

  • Amphibious DHC-6 300
  • Total flight time: 3000 hours
  • Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
  • Pilot in Command: 2000 hours
  • Float time: 1000 hours
  • Amphib time: 500 hours
  • IFR/Current: 500 hours min Instrument time

Education and Experience

  • DHC-6 Initial/recurrent school is required for PIC. 18-month recurrent
  • Holds a Commercial Certificate with a Multi-Engine Seaplane Rating
  • Possess an FAA First class medical or Category 1 Canadian medical.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driverrsquo;s license.
