Fly into Darrington Municipal 1S2 for Rock the Mountain - a three-day classic rock festival at the Darrington Music Park, set in a forest amphitheater at the foot of Whitehorse Mountain. Run by the Whitehorse Musicians Guild, the 2026 lineup is headlined by Head East, with tributes to Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Seger, Pink Floyd, and more, plus camping, workshops, food, local crafts, and a beer garden. New this year: a Rockin' Wheels contest and awards for the best campsites.A few practical notes. The airport is day-VFR with no fuel and no services - top off before you come and bring your own tie-downs. The music park is a few miles west of town, so plan a folding bike or a ride. Town has restaurants, coffee, and a grocery store within walking distance, and the Darrington Motor Inn for an overnight, though most folks camp on the festival grounds see rockthemountain.com for camping and tickets. Bring a camp chair, layers for cool mountain nights, and sun protection for the day.
Classic rock, a mountain back, and a runway instead of a parking lot - come make a weekend of it.
