Cowboy Dinner Tree
-
Silver Lake, OR
Years and years ago when, long before there was an old shack under what is now the Cowboy Dinner Tree, the ranchers from Paisley, Summer Lake and Siver Lake pushed their cattle through Syean trail enroute to the lush meadows of the Syean Marsh. By the time the cowboys had moved the cattle from Silver Lake lake bed to the Dinner Tree, it was considered the half-way point. Their the chuck wagon was waiting to serve-up some buckeroo beans and biscuits. Today after all these many years, the Cowboy Dinner Tree still serves-up the beans and bread, along with a slab of beef that most cowboys would only dream of on the trail! Natalee Thai Food
-
Cottage Grove, OR
Great Fly-in Lunch/Dinner Destination! Located directly across the main driveway to the Cottage Grove Airport next to Subway friends and I were happy to find this humble but delightful Thai Restaurant. I've been to Thailand and was happy to discover this hard working husband and wife team stick to more traditional Thai standards of ingredients and style. Rather then loading everything up with MSG and sugar like most Thai restaurants the owners at Natalee Seemed to stick to still take pride in what they serve and use simple and freshThai seasonings and combinations of flavors. Even a couple in our group who had not had Thai food before but appreciate good food enjoyed the meal and plan to return. Cashew Chicken stir fry was good as was the Thai fried chicken. And as in any good family restaurant in Thailand they make and offer their own homemade ice cream but we all agreed that for desert or even a light meal the fresh mango with sticky rice and fresh coconut milk was better. Don't expect something extravagant from the outside, just good, honest, reasonably priced Thai food, less all the MSG. And as Thai Food is not supposed to be Fast Food be prepared to wait a few mins for the best dishes. The Airport has a convienent card lock pump and at the time we were there reasonable prices. Airport is clean and attractive and easy to find. It's also a convenient eating, fueling point on a trip to or from California. -

Pacific City Inn
-
Pacific City, OR
In the past year or so, the new owners of this Inn have invested a significant amount of money renovating the place. It's simply beautiful now. The rooms are clean and comfortable to stay in. Only a couple blocks from the beach and has a very fine dining establishment too. The rates are fair and you get value for the money. -

Pine Hollow, OR
Nice area. Beautiful weather. Lots of things to do and play. Local pilots and owners are friendly and inviting. You just need to be a guest of one of them and the guys are most accommodating. Expect to share some flying stories with couple of the guys on the field and drink their coffee. Some nice inexpensive properties for sale that should go quickly. -

Explore rare wartime and aviation themed artifacts, including authentic WWII medals and gear. The Tillamook Air Museum has photos, first hand documentations and uniforms from the Second World War and beyond. In 1942, the U.S. Navy began construction of 17 wooden hangars to house K-class airships that would be used for anti-submarine patrol and convoy escort. Two of these hangars were built at Naval Air Station Tilllamook, which was commissioned in December 1942 to serve the Oregon-Washington-California coastal areas. -
