We have an exciting hybrid opportunity for a Unified Communications Collaboration Manager!

The Pratt Whitney Digital Technology Infrastructure Team is looking for a highly motivated individual with strong experience in Communication adn Collaboration technologies to design, implement and support enterprise-wide systems such as Unified Communications, VoIP, telecommunications, Video Conferencing, A/V, cellular/mobile, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, O365, electronic whiteboarding, video streaming, Social Networking applications, Jabber and instant / unified messaging.

This is a hybrid role working remotely and on location at East Hartford, CT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program management and implementation of Enterprise Collaboration and Communication tools including Cisco Unified Communication Cloud VoIP system, Video Conferencing hardware and software tools, Video Streaming applications, Telecommunication systems, Zoom, Whiteboarding apps, O365 including Teams and other collaboration and communication tools
  • Solution design and implementation for on-prem and cloud based collaboration and communication systems including the ability to drive compliance processes for new systems to obtain proper cybersecurity, global trade, privacy, ITAR, DFARS/NIST, FEDRAMP and legal approvals
  • The individual will also be required to work with a cross functional project team of employees and contractors on several large-scale unified communications implementation and migration projects
  • Budget planning, tracking, and reporting
  • Governance of operational support, management and monitoring of problem incidents and new requests including developing help desk processes and SLA reporting
  • L3 troubleshooting
  • Communication and Collaboration Roadmap and Strategy development and execution including analysis of Office-of-the-Future requirements, on-prem vs cloud systems, and alternatives solutions
  • Identify, develop, and implement system to track collaboration assets, owners, and locations
  • System documentation
  • Deliver designs and operational objectives by engineering, evaluating, recommending, formulating testing and implementation plans for the technology
  • Contribute information and recommendations for strategic plan  
  • Assist in preparing and completing action plans
  • Designing cost effective communication and collaboration systems, ensuring industry best practices
  • Integrate and converge technologies including voice, IM/P, video conferencing, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, cellular, AD, O365 and Microsoft Exchange

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Science or related technical discipline and 10+ years of experience working with Information Technology Collaboration and Communication systems performing design, configuration, administration, implementation and support responsibilities; OR an advanced degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Science or related technical discipline and 7+ years of experience working with Information Technology Collaboration and Communication systems performing design, configuration, administration, implementation and support responsibilities; OR in lieu of a degree, candidates with 14+ years of experience working with Information Technology Collaboration and Communication systems performing design, configuration, administration, implementation and support responsibilities will also be considered for this role
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen – this position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven record of innovation in Communications and Collaboration
  • Hands-on and expert level experience with VoIP systems (preferably Cico), Zoom, WebEx, Microsoft Teams along with Polycom, Crestron and Cisco Video Conferencing and AV equipment
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco Unified Call Manager, Cisco Unity Voicemail, Cisco Jabber, Cisco Contact Center, E911, Cisco Collaboration Edge, cisco SRST, QoS, H.323/SIP/G.711/G.729 protocols, Call Recording, Cisco VoIP phones, Cisco analog gateway, SIP Trunking, ISDN, PSTN, SIP end point and legacy telephony systems (e.g. analog PBX), Zoom, WebEx, Teams, Microsoft Surface Hub, O365 suite, Social Networking apps, Synergy Sky, speakers, mics, cameras, monitors, DSP, VR/AR/MR, wiring, cellular and networking technologies
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills working with outsourced DT suppliers, customers, senior management, security, compliance officials and other members of the DT organization
  • Certifications preferred (e.g. CCIE Voice)

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. This means that responsibilities of the job need to be performed onsite on a regular basis.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
