Job Summary:

We have an exciting and rare opportunity for an Operations Manager at PW Engine Services at our Regional Service Center Network Atlanta, Georgia location. This person will report to the Director of Satellite Operations US, Europe, and Brazil. The Operations Manager is responsible for management oversight of approximately a 20+ person aerospace engine Maintenance and Repair facility and responsible to manage all functions related to induction through shipment of engines and components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for on-time delivery, customer, turn-around-time (and the associated logistics processes), product quality, implementation of continuous improvement initiatives by staff and hourly employees (productivity improvement, cost reduction, new technology, etc.), cost targets, operating budget and financial performance, and support to external and internal customers.
  • Responsibilities also include maintaining a safe work environment and the management and development of staff and hourly employees within the organization.
  • Responsible for coordinating Operations transformation initiatives, and implementation of “Lean Transformation” techniques and principles. Lead work groups: Implements a culture within organizational groups that leads to greater excellence through continuous improvement.
  • Attracts, develops, and retains talent to ensure that people with the right skills and motivation are in the appropriate place. Engage management, staff, and technicians: Creates a work environment in which employees are compelled to commit to the organizational values and its bottom line. Through effective coaching and mentoring, promotes team building, effective communication, and develops an organization responsive to program requirements and changes in a non-unionized workforce.
  • Facilitate and implement innovation: Fosters a culture and develops approaches that generate innovative ideas, products, and services. Implements novel systems and processes that make effective use of available resources and seizes opportunities to drive competitiveness. Ensures that short, medium, and long-term plans are executed accurately, ensuring that all facets of the change process are considered and effectively communicated to employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Deliver customer value: Leads the implementation of new processes, activities, or culture that enhances the customer experience, and ensures that employees live a customer-focused culture every day. Drive performance: Achieves results personally and from work groups; sets performance expectations and holds people accountable for achieving results.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of Operations experience; OR a Masters degree with 7+ years of Operations experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success in operations management, with excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills with progressive leadership experience within the aerospace industry.
  • Proven ability to lead projects within the following areas impacting operations: EHS, HR, Quality, Finance, Ethics/Compliance, and Export Control.
  • 5+ years’ experience managing a team of five or more.
  • Proven experience with coaching, mentoring, and facilitating change.
  • Experience with Discretionary Authority – authority to set goals, policies and make decisions for the company. Examples include hiring, performance management, investigations, ethics and compliance matters, policy changes, budgeting, etc.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
