We have an incredibly exciting opportunity for an onsite Business Process Excellence Manager for Pratt Whitney India Capability Center. We are seeking a high-energy self-starter to drive key Global Trade Compliance initiatives and promoting and inspiring compliance culture in India.

Job Summary:

This role will be responsible for supporting strategic leadership for classifications (both Harmonized System (HS) and export control classifications), export license management, and supporting the implementation of critical Global Trade (GT) and Project Management initiatives across the local Pratt Whitney sites. 

We are currently seeking a proven, high-performing, GT and Project Management professional to fill a key on-site Global Trade and PMO site lead role role supporting all business functions at Pratt Whitney Canada, India. This role will report to the General Manager, India Capability Center and will have close working relationship with the Global Trade and PMO  team in Canada and the USA. In this dynamic and fast-paced role you will partner and collaborate with business leaders and Global Trade/ PMO colleagues across the company.  You will engage to understand the business strategies and objectives of the organization, while applying Global Trade compliance  and PMO solutions in a proactive manner, consistent with the Global Trade vision and mission.  As the Global trade and PMO site lead, you will develop the local global Trade compliance strategy, lead all Global Trade and PMO compliance solutions/projects, and represent the Global trade and PMO office in leadership meetings/engagements as needed. The ability to build relationships, coach and influence leaders, exercise good judgment and work effectively across the Raytheon Technologies and Pratt Whitney is critical in this role. Additionally, the confidence to proactively stretch yourself and engage in dialogue with leaders to facilitate their buy-in and engagement to drive optimal solutions is key to success for this role. The successful candidate should demonstrate an understanding of how Global Trade and PMO can support business growth and performance by aligning the right solutions, ideas, skills, and people both domestically and globally.  The ideal candidate is someone looking to stretch and develop their Global trade capabilities in preparation for a higher-level Global Trade leadership role. Job responsibilities:

  • Candidate will focus on establishing and improving procedures, tools and databases, and providing training and mentoring to a team of classifiers in Bengaluru, concerning the classification of Pratt Whitney products, software and related technical data. 
  • This will include developing and maintaining standard work instructions to ensure export and HS classification processes are implemented, executed and managed in accordance with all regulatory and Pratt Whitney requirements. Candidate will also be required to provide periodic training to the classifier network to ensure they thoroughly understand the classification process.
  • Candidate will also be responsible for creating and maintaining standard processes to ensure export authorizations are created, executed and managed by Authorization Owners (AO’s) within India in accordance with all regulatory and Pratt Whitney requirements.
  • Candidate will need to periodically train these AO’s to ensure they fully understand their responsibilities in this role.
  • Candidate will also be required to work with other Major Operating Units, Central GT, and the various regional and GT discipline-specific Councils to ensure your site(s) is/are leveraging best practices and standard work are deployed worldwide. 
  • Coordinating with Pratt Whitney GT Engineering, GT Program Support (GTPS), GT Requirements (GTR) and GT Investigation Disclosure (GTID) teams.
  • Managing classification data (Indian SCOMET, U.S Canadian Jurisdiction Classification and HS) stored in Global Trade Services (GTS).
  • Performing compliance checks and releasing GTS blocks on account of missing classifications.
  • Ensuring GT communications are being effectively communicated via the GT focal network.
  • Engaging with Pratt Whitney engineering disciplines and other internal customers to ensure that GT requirements for upcoming imports and projects are considered, and that the necessary Indian export licenses are in place to enable to project to proceed.
  • Working with Authorization Owners to ensure GT requirements are adhered to, including but not limited to data access, classification and marking, record keeping, and license usage (i.e., quantity and value tracking).
  • Supporting GTID lead in self-assessment activities, concern reporting (Global Trade Incident, GT360) and investigations.
  • Engaging in activities (e.g., training, communications, etc.) to raise GT awareness across Pratt Whitney locations across India and the region.
  • Participating in CORE events to drive continuous improvement.
  • Leading Investigation Disclosure in performing root cause analysis and ensuring the timely closure of corrective actions.
  • Monitoring site security compliance requirements (including restricted party screening, visitor management and facility tours).
  • Participating in passport reviews, review passport material forms and disposition passport approval requests on behalf of GT, e.g. work transfers requests.
  • Lead the GT focals network within IEC in alignment with India Engineering Center leadership.
  • Having background to software domain and technologies to build small web tools to improve efficiency along with MS office tools is preferred.

  • Present well and synthesize complex information into easy-to-understand visuals and text for all level audiences
  • Demonstrate commitment to professional development, staying current in areas such as Classification, Licensing, Screening, investigation and compliance auditing.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Any degree with 12+ years experience in Global Trade and PMO
  • Experience with MS PowerPoint, Word, and Excel and other applicable software
  • Strong organizational/follow-up skills and ability to prioritize and drive multiple and diverse tasks to closure concurrently

Qualifications We Value:

  • University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
  • Expert knowledge of market with the ability to identify best practices and how to best utilize within Pratt Whitney
  • Ability to think logically and independently to comprehend complex issues and identify opportunities to add value and deliver effective solutions
  • Familiarity with SAP GTS (Global Trade Services)
