JOB SUMMARY
The Rotor-Wing IFR Strike Team Pilot assists with coverage of open shifts as needed at assigned IFR bases and provides assistance with the start-up and standardization of new IFR bases. They are responsible for all operations involving company aircraft is in compliance with the Federal Aviation Regulations, Part 135, Air Evac EMS Operations Manual and all state or municipal regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
bull; Creates pilot information guide to include location, frequencies, and procedures to be used, when flying into hospitals and other EMS agencies.
bull; Conducts local area orientation as required.
bull; Informs the Regional Director of Flight Operations anytime the necessary information for flight planning is not available or up-to date.
bull; Operates the aircraft in a safe and efficient manner, with emphasis on compliance with the Rotorcraft Flight Manual
bull; Monitors forecast changes and current weather situations
bull; Conducts preflight of the aircraft prior to starting shift and/or accepting any transports or flights. Preflight will be conducted utilizing the appropriate rotorcraft flight manual. Discrepancies noted during the pre-flight will be noted in the engineering log with a notification to maintenance of the discrepancy and what corrective action is being taken
bull; Reports any major malfunctions, aircraft damage, or injured personnel to Operations Center in the most expeditious manner
bull; Ensures that all operations involving Company aircraft are in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, the Air Evac Operations Manual, and any state or municipal regulation; thus ensuring safe, efficient transport
bull; Performs any housekeeping duties required to make the crew quarters and hanger area neat, clean, and presentable along with nurse, paramedic.
bull; Wash, wax, and clean aircraft, as needed, along with nurse, paramedic and maintenance personnel.
bull; Submits all appropriate paperwork in a neat and timely manner
bull; Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
bull; FAA Commercial Rotorcraft-Helicopter certificate
bull; FAA Helicopter instrument rating
bull; High school diploma or equivalent
bull; Current FAA Class II Medical certificate
Experience
bull; 2000 hours total flight time
bull; 1500 hours helicopter time
bull; 1000 hours pilot in command
bull; 1000 hours turbine
bull; Minimum of 200 helicopter night flight hours (aided and/or unaided)
bull; 200 Instrument Hours (Actual / Hood / SIM) 50 Hours Actual in Aircraft
bull; Previous HEMS experience or equivalent ndash; preferred
bull; 1 year experience with any GMR Air company ndash; preferred
bull; H135 Experience preferred
bull; Twin engine time preferred.

bull; Adapts to irregular work pace.
