The Southeastern Oklahoma State University Aviation Sciences Institute invites applications for a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor position in aviation management, safety, and aerospace administration and logistics. This position is located in the Oklahoma City area, to include Tinker AFB and Rose State College.
This is a twelve (12) month position and is located on the Rose State College Campus in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Classes are held on both Tinker AFB and Rose State College. Classes are taught in the evening between 4:30 10:20 PM during five eight-week long terms each year. In some semesters some courses taught man include a Saturday course between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, or an online course in the aerospace administration and logistics Master of Science program.
We seek candidates with an earned doctorate (or ABD) with a strong background in aviation management, administration safety; candidates with a master's degree ten years of aviation management or related industry. Candidates with significant aviation management, aviation logistics, aviation maintenance, aviation repair and
overhaul (MRO) and industry safety management experience are highly desired Candidates with graduate-level teaching experience are also desired.
Primary teaching duties include both undergraduate graduate level, but not limited to; aviation management, aviation administration, logistics, fiscal and economic management, research methods and capstone projects.
Additional duties regarding safety:
1. Works safely, attends safety training offered/required, follows appropriate safety rules regulations.
2. In relation to level of NIMS training completed, participates in incident management preparation performs incident duties as assigned.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The preferred start date is immediately or by August 1, 2019, and may require multiple campus assignments as well as varied time and delivery methods.
