Role Overview

As the Quality & Engineering Manager, you will serve as the primary authority for all Quality Control (QC) management functions regarding our customer’s aviation assets. You will act as a strategic advisor to the Program/Operations Managers and senior leadership, ensuring that every aircraft meets the highest standards of airworthiness and mission readiness.

Your mission is to develop, oversee, and evolve a robust Quality Management System (QMS) that prioritizes safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Plan and evaluate the QC department’s performance to align with organizational strategy, ensuring total compliance with regulatory, external, and customer standards.
  • Operational Excellence: Lead root cause and corrective action investigations to ensure aircraft are safe, reliable, and available for customer requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement new systems and best practices to optimize demand planning and quality enhancement cycles (PDCA).
  • Team Management: Direct the hiring, mentoring, and performance evaluation of QC staff, fostering a culture of high-level technical proficiency.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Maintain positive business relationships with key customer personnel and serve as a liaison for contractor/subcontractor quality activities.
  • Engineering Oversight: Advise on and approve maintenance procedures, repair schemes, and drawings to ensure quality objectives are met before implementation.
  • Technical Integrity: Oversee Technical Publications and workshop sections to ensure accuracy in all processes and Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs).

Requirements:

  • Education: Diploma in Quality Management Systems (Aerospace Technology) or equivalent. Graduation from a U.S. Army aviation maintenance school is highly preferred.
  • Licensing: Must hold an FAA A&P license (IA/FCC license preferred) or an internationally recognized equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in a management/supervisory role within aviation quality or maintenance.
    • Extensive experience with TAMMS-A (The Army Maintenance Management System-Aviation).
    • Strong background in Army Quality Control management (AVUM through DEPOT level experience for rotary or fixed-wing platforms).
  • Safety Expertise: Qualified Safety Officer with a proven track record in accident and incident investigation.
