Ocracoke Island
Small airstrip near the historic village of Ocracoke. Everything in the village is within easy walking distance of the airport. Just turn left onto Hwy 12 after leaving the airport and walk. The first place you will come to is Howards Pub, which is a favorite stopping point. Plan an overnight stay in order to sample some of the beers they have. Bikes can also be rented to explore the island if so desired. Beyond Howards Pub there are many other very good restaurants, B&B's, Hotels and cottages to rent. The restaurant is less than a mile from the airport so walking is an option. - Submitted by NCPilot

6/2/2022 - Hi - Just wanted to and most probably already know, but Howard's Pub does not pick people up at the airport in Ocracoke anymore. They told us that they haven't done that in years. We just visited yesterday, so I thought I'd let you know. Thanks so much. - Submitted by Kathy Tanner
2/19/2011 - Howard's monitors the CTAF on a VHF radio in the bar so you can call them when about 10 minutes out and they'll meet you when you land. Great place for lunch. - Submitted by FlyingDoc

5/21/2009 - There's an easier way than calling Howard's Pub, if you call them on 122.9 as you are approaching, they will come out to the airport with the stretch golf cart to pick you up. - Submitted by Will Yochim
