Yankee Air Museum
Discover a Southeast Michigan gem: the Yankee Air Museum! The Museum is a Smithsonian-affiliated aerospace and science museum with rare historical aircraft ranging from World War I to the Gulf War. Visit today and get inspired by the hands-on interactive STEM exhibits, educational tours, unique aviation artifacts, and more! Book an Air Adventure on one of their five historic aircraft and take a ride into history. Yankee Air Museum's historic plane rides feature the B-17 Yankee Lady and B-25 Rosie's Reply bombers, the C-47 Hairless Joe Skytrain, the UH-1 Huey Greyhound, and the magnificent Ford Tri-Motor. The aircraft fly from May to October and schedules for each aircraft can be found on the website in early spring.

4/25/2015 - Great museum! Original museum caught fire and burnt down. Luckily they saved the 4 planes. They are currently as of April 2015 trying to raise money through donations to refurbish a portion of the B-24 Liberator bomber plant located at Willow Run Airport that they recently acquired. To learn more go to www.savethebomberplant.org or their website at www.yankeeairmuseum.org They also do flight experiences on their B-17 B-25. Check their website on pricing info and tour locations if interested. Museum Hours Sunday and Monday, CLOSED. Tuesday - Saturday 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Admission: $8 for 18 and up, $ 5.00 for Children between the ages of 3-17, Seniors 65+, Students with ID, Military Past and Present with ID. Children ages 2 and under are FREE with adult. Flying Historic Planes include: B-17 Flying Fortress Yankee Lady B-25 Mitchell Yankee Warrior, C-47 Skytrain Yankee Doodle Dandy, and V-77 Stinson Reliant, along with some other static displays outside of the museum and exhibits indoors. The larger flyable aircraft are not always on display. Please call before traveling out if interested in seeing a specific plane.
