10/20/2017 - Correction: Re: Fish Creek. We ate at Julie's, not Ruby's. The volunteer at the airport suggested it. Very good brunch. - Submitted by Lisa Davis
10/19/2017 - The bikes at the airport were free. We rode 3 miles, mostly downhill into Fish Creek. We ate at Ruby's. Then rented Yamaha Vinos like a vespa at the entrance to Peninsula State Park for 2 hours. We rode along the lakefront, toured the lighthouse, stopped at the beach, golf course. We came back into town for an ice cream at a place along the river. Wonderful day! - Submitted by Lisa Davis
10/4/2016 - Peninsula State Park is just across the highway from the airport. It makes for a beautiful flight in. But, also it's a great destination for biking or camping. - Submitted by Rudy
8/31/2014 - This is great little airport, friendly people on site, bikes to ride into town or a courtesy car. We biked to the Gibralter Bar Grille. - Submitted by Bob Vajgrt
9/11/2011 - Flew from to 3D2 today to take my mother on surprise lunch to celebrate my recent Private Pilot license. The gentleman at the airport was very friendly and helpful. No fees if you are staying for less than 4 hours and less than 7 parking for the day with single engine aircraft. Julie's in Fish Creek will come and pick you up at the airport and shuttle you to their Cafe/Motel with a simple phone call, or rent one of the bikes from the airport. It's a few miles to town and you will be enjoying the best of Door County in minutes. As a new pilot it can be a challenging landing. Prepare your X-wind skills as the wind is strong and variable off of the lake and there is not a lot of extra runway for beginners. Overall a great Up North airport for a day of fun! - Submitted by Rick L
