| Our gathering this month is all about MOSAIC and what this new rule means to you! The new MOSAIC rule Sport Pilot/Light Sport 2.0 is finally here. At our August gathering chapter president, Dr. Phil Polstra, will facilitate a discussion on what this long awaited rule change means to you as a pilot or potential pilot. A non-exclusive list of things to be covered: What new privileges will Sport Pilots have? Flying under Sport rules when holding a higher certificate Changes to definition of Light Sport Aircraft What existing aircraft will now be considered Light Sport? What new categories of Light Sport Aircraft will be created? When do I need a medical to fly as a Sport pilot? When will these new rules take effect?
