Job Description
Responsibilities:
Lead an organization that generates bids, proposals, creates electronic designs, verifies, and qualifies those designs and develops technologies for new products.
Lead strategic resource planning and build a high-performing team through recruitment and competency development.
Manage departmental objectives including engineering planning, budgeting, culture development, performance metrics and process excellence.
Create and execute structured development plans for team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
Set clear performance expectations and manage/improve performance using metrics and continuous improvement practices.
Provide technical expertise and leadership in new business pursuits, existing business execution, factory support and electronic design process improvement.
Drive effective project startup, focusing on strategic planning, standardization, and collaboration.
Demonstrate superior technical expertise, assisting in hands-on design problem-solving and mentoring.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Electronics Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent.
8-10 years of design experience in electrical or electronic design.
People leadership experience in a product development environment.
Proficiency in stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills.
Strong organization, written, and presentation skills.
Lean mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
Knowledge of electronic circuit design, circuit board design, and industry standards.

Desired Characteristics:
Masters degree in Engineering.
Knowledge and experience in complex avionics systems development.
3 – 5 years of experience as a people leader.
Familiarity with regulatory guidance documents like ARP 4754A, DO-160 and DO-254.
Experience with EMC and thermal testing and/or product qualification.
Excellence in professionalism, questioning, listening, and influencing.
Capability to partner and drive alignment across matrixed organizations.
Experience with Earned Value and Activity Based Management methods.
